Norma Kay Lord, LCSW, LMFT, CGP, TEP, CRC
Norma Kay Lord earned a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology and a M.A. in Human Relations at the University of Oklahoma where she also completed graduate studies in group dynamics and individual therapy, community relations, social change and social deviancy. She also received a second degree in Social Work from the University of Houston.
Ms. Lord has held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility in the field of community service and law enforcement. While working as a probation counselor in Corpus Christi she established the first family support system for court placement. She has presented on state, national and international levels on group dynamics and generational transmission.
She has extensive training and experience as a clinical social worker and is especially skilled in rehabilitative programs and the utilization of Psychodrama in individual and group settings. Her original training was at the Dallas Institute of Psychodrama and Sociometry, and with Jungian Analysts, Evie Lotze and Daig Blumquist for the Swedish Moreno Institute and in New York with Zerka Moreno. Other sources of training include working in her native state of Oklahoma with Native American elders and Medicine men and women. She was chosen to participate in a medical panel for the Native American Cultural Festival held in 1998.
At present, Ms. Lord is a licensed Masters Social Worker-Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Group Psychotherapist and Director of CAST INC., a private practice in The Woodlands, Texas. She is also a Trainer, Educator, and Practitioner in Psychodrama, Sociometry, and Group Psychotherapy. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama, International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals, Houston Group Psychotherapy Association, International Family Therapy Association, and a Clinical Member of the American Group Psychotherapy Association.
Ms. Lord is the mother of three grown daughters and has resided in the community of her practice since 1991. She has been very active within her community in school functions related to her children and in community organizations related to children with learning and disabilities and special needs.
