Jeanie Low Biography

Jeanie Low, LCSW

Jeanie Low graduated from the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work in 2008. Her graduate studies has allowed her knowledge, skills, and direct practice in mental health services.

During a field practicum at the Harris County Psychiatric Center she found her niche, working with children, adolescents, and families. While there, she facilitated individual, family, and group therapy. At HCPC she learned to be an active member in a multidisciplinary team during a mental health crisis.

Jeanie's second field practicum at Counseling Associates of South Texas gave her an environment to continue her education and enhance her social work skills. After graduation she stuck around and helped launch the therapeutic day camp, Creative Options. At this time she co facilitate the Children’s and Tween’s groups, and Teen Expressive Arts Group.

She recently initiated her journey to become a certified Psychodramatist and incorporate this experiential technique into her clinical practice. In the Summer she will serve as the Creative Options Summer Day Camp Director.

In 2005, she received a Bachelor of Arts from University of Saint Thomas with a major in Psychology and a minor in Philosophy. As an undergraduate Psychology intern at the Children’s Assessment Center she worked first hand with sexually abused children providing services designed to meet their emotional needs. During this she also volunteered at the ESCAPE Family Resource Center, a non-profit agency offering parenting classes, divorce classes, and classes for parents with children of disabilities. she also donated time to the Houston Area Women’s Center, a shelter providing support services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
